Placed 5meters away from WiFi-G router.
The signal fluctuating between 40-70% in the open air. (OS: Windows 7)
20-50% if plug at the rear I/O panel of motherboard.
Once it drop around 50% then it wont get any response from the router.

Extend with gold plated extension USB cable(with ferrite core).
Get some aluminum foil which can be found in the kitchen and then fold it like the shape shown in picture. Make it as large as possible and focus it to some where else has better signal reception.
Make sure the foil reflect the signal to adapter, imagine it reflecting signal as light beam.
10-20% reception is gained for this size in a distance of 5meters between adapter and router.
